INTO THE OUTERMOST PARTS OF THE WORLD

  1. iNTRODUCTION

1a) Luke 15: 11 – 32  - The Story of the “Prodigal Son”

- The older brother syndrome  - our fatted calf
Are we being proactive about our inheritance
Do we see it as off in the future
Are we actioning at least some deliberate next steps?
Are we thinking “ more than enough”, rather than “not enough”, way less than enough or worse?

Consider these comments and questions in regard to our current theme in today’s topic.   The Father said to the older brother “everything I have is yours”. – Do we see the outermost parts of the earth as a part of our inheritance?

 1b) Review –

Caleb dealt with “out from our innermost being”  last week.
2 factors

·         Are we living with rivers flowing?  Or just A trickle?

If it’s just a trickle, we are far more likely to be fickle about the Great Commission – unto the outermost parts of the earth, and way less likely to thrust in the sickle to reap a harvest.

·        The Baptism  of the Spirit – speaking in tongues, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody in our hearts and giving thanks are both a sign of the flow of the rivers flowing from within and a Biblical principle for taking responsibility for making sure the overflow is daily, even moment by moment.

1c)         What brings delight
Doing God’s will is the greatest thrill
Psalm 40:8 "I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart." – note: This source of delight overflows from serving ie from giving rather than getting
Luke 15:10 "Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”
Psalm 126:6 "He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him."
Psalm 45: 7   “ Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows anointed with gladness above all His fellows”.  Also found in Hebrews 1:9
Phil 4: 4  Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say rejoice – Do  you have a “names of God ready reckoner”; memorized? Saved on your phone – other device, no matter how we are feeling or what the circumstances are we can choose to rejoice in the Lord by using our ready reckoner which will enable us to focus on God rather than how we are feeling
1 Thess 5:18 - In everything give thanks  - same principle as above

Q: Do you have a Kingdom of God ready Reckoner? That is a list of all the references specific of God’s Kingdom principles / parables?

Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness and peace and Joy  the Holy Ghost.

Q: When you think of what brings delight in your life does food and drink come before the things of God’s Kingdom?

Gal 5:22  But the fruit of the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Psalm 48 the joy of the whole earth – the CITY OF God
Psalm 48: 1 -2   Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness. Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

Q:  is your source of delight more about you as an individual and things intimate or gathering with God’s people, the great congregation, the Holy nation, the city of the Lord?

Jacob is a type of the individual, Zion the Gathering place. God prefers the gathering but also does love the individual

Q.  Are you living in regular repentance?

Is the foundation of repentance from dead works fully established in your life?  Individually, team, band, church

Repentance brings refreshing, refreshing brings delight

Acts 3: 19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

Living by faith rather than by sight.  Living by faith pleases God, which in turn generates delight

2. INTO

2 a)  Into logic

Romans 10:13 -21 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 16  But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 18  But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world. 19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you. 20  But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me. 21  But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

The Throne

Ezekiel 47 from throne to the sea of humanity  Putting various scriptures together that speak of God’s river we paint the full picture

Ezekiel 47 from the Temple – we are now the temple 7 N.T. refences to this truth

1 The man brought me back to the entrance to the temple, and I saw water coming out from under the threshold of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east). The water was coming down from under the south side of the temple, south of the altar. 2 He then brought me out through the north gate and led me around the outside to the outer gate facing east, and the water was trickling from the south side. As the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and then led me through water that was ankle-deep. He measured off another thousand cubits and led me through water that was knee-deep. He measured off another thousand and led me through water that was up to the waist. He measured off another thousand, but now it was a river that I could not cross, because the water had risen and was deep enough to swim in—a river that no one could cross. He asked me, “Son of man, do you see this?”

Then he led me back to the bank of the river. When I arrived there, I saw a great number of trees on each side of the river. He said to me, “This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah, where it enters the Dead Sea. When it empties into the sea, the salty water there becomes fresh. Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live. Fishermen will stand along the shore; from En Gedi to En Eglaim there will be places for spreading nets. The fish will be of many kinds—like the fish of the Mediterranean Sea. But the swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they will be left for salt. Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.”  This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “These are the boundaries of the land that you will divide among the twelve tribes of Israel as their inheritance, with two portions for Joseph. You are to divide it equally among them. Because I swore with uplifted hand to give it to your ancestors, this land will become your inheritance. “This is to be the boundary of the land: “On the north side it will run from the Mediterranean Sea by the Hethlon road past Lebo Hamath to Zedad, Berothah and Sibraim (which lies on the border between Damascus and Hamath), as far as Hazer Hattikon, which is on the border of Hauran The boundary will extend from the sea to Hazar Enan, along the northern border of Damascus, with the border of Hamath to the north. This will be the northern boundary. “On the east side the boundary will run between Hauran and Damascus, along the Jordan between Gilead and the land of Israel, to the Dead Sea and as far as Tamar.  This will be the eastern boundary.  “On the south side it will run from Tamar as far as the waters of Meribah Kadesh, then along the Wadi of Egypt to the Mediterranean Sea. This will be the southern boundary.  “On the west side, the Mediterranean Sea will be the boundary to a point opposite Lebo Hamath. This will be the western boundary. “You are to distribute this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Israel.  You are to allot it as an inheritance for yourselves and for the foreigners residing among you and who have children. You are to consider them as native-born Israelites; along with you they are to be allotted an inheritance among the tribes of Israel. In whatever tribe a foreigner resides, there you are to give them their inheritance,” declares the Sovereign Lord.

Fruitfulness

Psalm 1: meditation on God’s word planted by river, forever fruitful
Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take, or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither,  whatever they do prospers. Not so the wicked. They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment  nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

Revelation 22: flowing from  the throne, healing of nations

1-5 "Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever."

Psalm 46 – streams make river, make city glad,
Psalm 48 City is joy of the whole earth

Ezekiel 47  - they cast out the nets and gathered in the fruit

Healing is fruitfulness –

The river brings life wherever it goes

Transformation  - the salty becomes fresh

3 The outer most parts

Set out below are some keynote scriptures and related principles that demonstrate all of us have a destiny in God that we take hold of by engaging in and contributing to the Apostolic responsibility, the multi millennial mandate God has given to His born again, Bible believing saints .

Psalm 2: 3 Ask of me, and I shall give  the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth thy possession.

3a. 24/7 Intercession

Heb 7: 25  He ever lives to make intercession for us

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

3b. The alls of the Great Commission

ALL authority, ALL nations, ALL things, ALL of us, ALWAYS with us

Matt 28: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

3c. The rest of mankind  - Tabernacle of David

Acts 15: 16 - 17 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up . 17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
